Description: I was listening to an old podcast from the Penn Jillete Show, and he was airing his grievances with "Theme from Shaft." Since he's my hero and because now I can't hear the song without thinking about the problems, I fixed it. It's now "He's a complicated man; no one understands him but his woman." It used to be "He's a complicated man, but no one understands him but his woman. (John Shaft)" That is redundant and implies that Shaft's lady friend might be named "John Shaft." I left in the first occurence (by accident), but I think that just magnifies the point. This is for you, Penn. Enjoy! |

SnerdWilliams ::: Favorites 2007-12-15 17:47:58 It was Isaac Hayes. If Sammy Davis Jr. had performed this song, you would have laughed your ass off. YES! See "Shaft." I picked up the DVD the other night for about $6. You could always rent or Netflix. But you have to see it. It's one of the greatest movies ever. __________________________________________________
licataj2007 ::: Favorites 2007-12-15 17:28:29 I gotta see the movie I know sammy davis jr sounds great singing this version __________________________________________________
SnerdWilliams ::: Favorites 2007-12-15 15:04:15 The song by itself is good, but nothing compares to it in the movie "Shaft." Just hearing it and seeing Richard Roundtree walking in New York... I got a tingle down my spine. It was great. __________________________________________________
