Description:
Space Shuttle - STS-121 had two cameras mounted on the solid rocket Boosters. The clip follows from launch to crashing into the ocean. Unbelievable stuff. This video is a mashup of both camera views along with a Brian Eno soundtrack that was aptly made for the Apollo space mission footage. |

balarat84 ::: Favorites I wonder what life form a thousand years from now would think of this...as simple maybe as us getting in and out of a car? 07-05-31 19:22:33 _____________________________________________________
Galevav ::: Favorites Well, that 'life form' will likely still be human...a thousand years ago is when Vikings made it on longboats to Canada, using Iceland and Greenland as waypoints. I say a shuttle launch would look to people a thousand years from now to be about as cumbersome and tedious as longboats are compared to, say, a cruise ship. 07-06-10 04:59:04 _____________________________________________________
balarat84 ::: Favorites Great point, although never before human kind has been threaten of it's existence due to its own creations. But I agree that it will be looked upoun as basic stick shift. I just hope we see alot of progress in the space program in our life time. 07-06-11 02:15:04 _____________________________________________________
byetis ::: Favorites I would say the shuttle is more analogous to the pyramids moreso than longboats. It'll be considered the brute force method for getting to space. I'm sure we'll come up with something a lot more elegant 1000 years from now. Like going from making buildings from solid stone to skeleton steel. 07-06-13 02:50:18 _____________________________________________________
