Description: While taking video for my "Derbyshire villages by car" collection, using my dash mounted camera I captured a lorry driver that did not seem to care what was happening in the back of his lorry. I was behind the lorry from Belper, Derbyshire all the way to Allestree where it turned off to head north on the A38. This was lunch time on Friday 8th June 2007. As you can see in Belper where I joined the traffic, the back shutter of the lorry was down but by the time it got to Milford the shutter opened up to reveal all the stuff moving around and slamming into the sides and front of the lorry. I flashed him a couple of times but I dont think he cared about the stuff moving around in the back. He must have been aware of the moving loads as it was very loud. It did not have a "Hows my driving" phone number on the back, perhaps its been snowed under with calls? Did you spot him? |

unknown4691 2008-03-01 07:44:03 yeah it is important to secure the load inside the vehicle as the load shifting inside might cause instability when negotiating corners. you can feel the load moving and it will be bad if 44 tons were to tip over.i once lost the last trailer of my b double because the strong winds blew my truck with unsecured load that is why i now secure my loads tightly for 4 wheelers safety and my rice bowl __________________________________________________

babamunky 2008-01-21 13:06:07 Tail lift or not, I would have thought there was some regulation about your load being secure. I know personally that whenever I carry cages I strap them in or atleast have a bar across. __________________________________________________
VolvoFH12580 2008-01-06 15:22:37 i double checked the regulations on this and as its a tail lift lorry it doesnt need to be secured inside provided the tail lift comes up a minimum of half way. __________________________________________________
DavidTL 2007-11-16 15:59:14 Bloody hell, I knew everywhere on that video. __________________________________________________ |
