Yes, unfortunately there's far too much of that. I don't know if it's the greatest single cause or just one of the greater causes, but it certainly can't be helping when Christians say they have a cure for the human condition but it doesn't appear to work for many of it's adherents. Then there are those who object to the Bible itself, seeing it as a source of anti-scientific bigotry, intolerance and elitism. I think Brett is a bit of both.

I believe that Brett has been deeply hurt by those who professed to be "Christian." Music group dcTalk has a statement on one of their albums that reads, "The greatest single cause of atheism today is Christians... People who profess their faith with their mouths, and then turn around and live their lives completely opposite."

The Math Guy, we're talkin' 'bout burning the dang Bible here, not our dang feelings! Light 'er up! You are a strange and wonderful human being.

Like my American Studies professor said: "American have never known the true meaning of Oppression". Unlike so many other nations who don't complain over the smallest things.

The fact is that people naturally hate without reason, especially what they can't defeat or accept. While I was sadly unable to find the challenge that Brett Keane set, it is quite possible that he was never wronged by Christianity. He may just be one of the many "anti-" people in this world. I do apologize if I've rambled on, I sometimes get like that.

Ah, but the thing is, not everyone has a reason for what they hate. There often isn't an excuse. Take me, for example (which I hate doing): I've hated quite a lot of things without reason since I was a young child, religion and lack of religion being at the top of the list. While now I could probably chalk it all up to 'the rebellious teen phase' I still can't explain why, as I don't know if there is such a thing as a 'rebellious five-year old phase.' (continued)

You're right mathguy, he probably got molested by a preist when he was a kid. That would explain his motivation for attacking the bible the way he does (that and the fact that he's spiritually dead).

From what I have seen so far, he blocks people from commenting because their comments are typical Christian defeatist comments. Such as, "Nonbelievers are damned", "The unfaithful will be sentenced to hell", ect. You really can't respond to those sort of comments because those comments are irrational and are, quite frankly, stupid.
