Description:

Ghostsurfer74 sent me a video link for Robert Newman's, "History Of Oil", Gov. Schweitzer of Montana has a great sounding plan to sequester CO2 in porous underground rock for 100,000 years. I've made a lot of progress personally in getting off of fossil fuels, and feeling better for it.

Thanks for posting. I loved the Robert Newman clips. It does make you think. I work on oil rigs but i try to limit my own personal usage to bare minimums. You are right about hope. We can work together or many people can. If not then the world will keep turning but we will suffer. Its the wasteful attitudes that stink, thoughtless. I too got into history when i grew up and travelled. Seems common. Thanks again and you take care

I am totally ready for renewable energy sources! And we don't need gasoline to power engines; they can run on water, air, hydrogen, bio diesel, you name it. :)

I'm not sure every engine in the world could run on alternative energy. What land would be left for food? There won't be much need for cars anyway if we become self-sufficient.

Thanks for the nomination! I would either be shot, poisoned with polonium 210, or framed for the murder of Anna Nicole Smith before I ever got near the gates of the Whitehouse!

That slanted telling of history is perhaps why I never developed an appreciation (or even tolerance) for history until after I became an adult and was out of school.

When I was a kid, history was my worst subject. I just couldn't have cared less about all those dead people and their stupid wars and barbaric behavior. It was only after I became an adult that I got interested in history, now I can't get enough of it. It's amazing how many people have had that same experience.

It is pretty scary how common that is. In fact, if it weren't for 9/11 and all that immediately followed, I doubt I would have developed any interest at all. Sad.

Too true what you said about the fact that the winners write the history books to glorify themselves!

World War I is extremely significant in recent history. You should check out Dan Carlin's podcast, he has an episode where he lays out the fact that nearly all the recent foreign policy headaches we've experienced, from Ireland to Kosovo to Israel to Iraq, ALL result from imperial powers cutting up the lands of the losers of that war. And in a larger scheme, the Soviet Union never would have arisen if it hadn't been for that war.
